Played a game of Rapid Fire at the Grimsby Wargames Society club. Danny's Germans vs my Americans. Danny had two Kampfgruppe and I fielded a Combat Command with an extra recce unit and some additional artillery. Good game ended in a draw, with both sides taking some casualties. All the terrain is off the shelves of the club.
Managed to finish some units for my Soviets. I've had these laying around for some time now and with the big CWC game being hosted by the Grimsby Wargames society only 6 months away, I felt it was time to pull my finger out and get them done. The units consist of a regiment of T64BVs (SMO63) and a battalion of BMP1s (SMOO9) . The additional vehicles on the command stands are BRDM2Us (SMO78) and a UAZ 469 field car(SMO50). The T64BVs won't be fielded as a single unit but divided amongst my regular T64Bs to give 3 mixed regiments. All the codes are for Heroics and Ros models.
Still lots of Soviets left to do and then on with the Americans and British I have left in the pile.
Received my copy from Pendraken Miniatures earlier this week. Having given them a read I must say they have dome a good job of revising this popular rule set. Also fair play to Pendraken for dealing with the ill fated 3rd edition as they did. It took real commitment to the hobby to admit there where problems and withdraw the whole print run, probably at considerable expense. I'am looking forward to giving these a bash in the near future
I didn't realise just how long it had been since my last post, nearly 2 years. Well shame on me but the last 18 months where a bit rubbish with real life getting in the way. Hopefully that is now all behind me and it's time to move on.I have managed a few games but very little painting recently but that should be changing as I try and rediscover my enthusiasm for the hobby. Here are some pics from a recent game and the last Cold War Commanders big game at the Grimsby Wargames Society club.
