  1. Interesting fences - did they really build them like that? And how did you like Black Powder? My gaming friends back in NZ like Volley & Bayonet, so I've been exposed to that as a reference point.

    1. Hi Luke, the fences represent "snake" fencing and as such aren't too bad a representation, though the angles could be tighter. We've found you can't have too much fencing and are always looking for an economical way to build more. As for Black Powder, we play a number of periods using these rules, and whilst they are not my favourite for ACW, we did manage 12 turns with 7 players. The rules do lack the historical "feel" you get from other sets but are easy to learn and don't require any house keeping as casualties etc are represented on table with markers..

  3. Hi Steve,
Great looking game. Did you use the ACW Black Powder additional rules, I seem to remember there was a set in a ezine called ACW Gamer.

    1. Hi Richard,
we tried some by, iirc, the guys at the Durham wargames club. Whilst well thought out they added an additional level of complexity which we found slowed the games down quite a bit , so we tend to use them as written.
      Cheers
